ABOUT
Who I am and how I work
Gurehmat C.
Computer Science student at McMaster University — focused on software engineering and building things that work.
- Outside of code: Muay Thai, BJJ, and hiking. In 2025 I won the NSS Healthy Living Competition grand prize (9,000+ participants across 11 countries).
- I build PCs and enjoy tinkering; the same hands-on approach carries into how I design and debug software.
- I’m drawn to projects with clear impact — from full-stack apps like PantryCheff to hackathon deliverables and production-ready flows.
Seeking a Summer 2026 software engineering internship.

Capabilities
// CAPABILITIES
- Ship full-stack applications with auth, database, serverless functions, AI integration, and automated testing.
- Design and implement responsive UI with component architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
- Integrate external APIs (e.g. Gemini for vision/recipe generation) with secure key handling and structured error handling.
- Write comprehensive tests (154 across unit, component, and integration), maintain CI/CD, and enforce code quality with linting.
- Debug with dev tools and systematic breakpoints; iterate from feedback.

// HOW I WORK
- Define scope and data flow before coding; break work into testable steps.
- Use consistent naming and structure; document decisions so others can follow.
- Ship small increments, gather feedback, and iterate (e.g. PantryCheff flow).
